Greenside
Accommodation

Greenside was founded on a portion of the farm owned by Louw Geldenhuys, when he gave landless Boer soldiers land to build houses.
He had employed them after the Boer War to build a dam, now Emmarentia Dam, on his farm.

The suburb is close to the suburbs of Melville and Parktown, the Witwatersrand and Johannesburg Universities and the Milpark Hospital.
Greenside High School, a top public school in Johannesburg, is in the suburb.

The green lungs of Emmarentia Dam, which is part of the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, and is home to the Dabulamanzi canoe clubs as well as Delta Park, with its Conservation Centre, Bird Hide and Children's Playpark, are both on Greenside's doorstep.

Cresta Shopping Mall is the closest to Greenside, whilst Rosebank, with its African Market and the city's most popular open air craft market - is close by.
Rosebank has its own Gautrain station, so linking Greenside with Sandton, OR Tambo International Airport as well as Pretoria.

Greenside has a similar busy sidewalk restaurant ethos to the nearby suburbs of Parkhurst and Melville.

Parkview, Emmarentia, Victory Park and Parkhurst are the suburbs that border onto Greenside.
