Johannesburg will host two
FIFA Fan Fest
or Fan Parks

FIFA will have their FIFA Fan Fest, or fan parks, set up across the world - eight across South Africa and two in Johannesburg.

The fan parks at the last World Cup in Germany, which was held during summer, were a huge success, but with this event being held in the middle of a winter, I just can’t imagine that they're going to be the place to be!
Jo'burg during winter, has warm, sunny days, but bitterly cold nights!
Watching a game, bathed in winter sun, will be fine, but you'll need to be really well padded at night, as you'll be sitting on the ground, with no protection from the elements.

You’ll be prohibited form taking in any food and drinks, including on medical grounds, unless you have a doctors letter!
Also prohibited will be aerosol and other cans, bottles, cups, thermos flasks, beverage containers (except an approved cup), glass, dangerous weapons, flagpoles, banner poles, laser pointing devices, pyrotechnics, sticks, poles and umbrellas longer than 40cm.

Leave your picnic baskets at home, as this is after all FIFA’s party – not yours!

A good range of food will be on sale, as well as hot and cold drinks and wine and beer.
Halaal and vegetarian dishes will also be available.

The two fan parks in Johannesburg will be in Sandton at the Innis Free Park and in Soweto at the Elkah Stadium & Soweto Cricket Club.

Innes Free Park, which is on the northern side of Johannesburg, is close to both Alexandra township and the Sandton Central Business District.
A variety of activities have been planned to keep fans entertained both before and after the live screening of the games.

You'll need to park at the Sandton Shopping Centre, which is close to 3 kms. away, and catch a shuttle bus to and from the park.
The event will also be signposted for those wanting to walk.
The park is on a river, so it's going to be bitterly cold at night!!!
Don't forget, if you do go for a night game, you'll have the same distance to walk back after it's all over at 22h00'ish!

Elkah Stadium & Soweto Cricket Club, is situated in the heart of one of Soweto's bustling suburbs, Rockville.
The venue is the series of fields which make up Elkah Stadium and the Soweto Cricket Club.
There'll be a large beer tent, an Official Store, and various Food & Beverage outlets.
Entertainment highlights include local and national music and dance acts.
